FAQs

  • Our artists and piercers mostly work by appointment only. In the event we are able to offer walk-ins, an announcement will be made via social media (@shorelinetattooandpiercing).

  • While other establishments may tattoo/pierce minors with parental consent, our shop does not currently offer any services to minors. All clients must present valid photo ID with proof of DOB at the time of their appointment to be copied with a consent form.

  • Pricing a tattoo may be similar to estimating the cost of a “cart of groceries.” There are many contributing factors to the cost of your new tattoo including size, style, body placement, color, etc. Our artists tattoo by hourly rate ranging from $150 - $175 per hour. Artists will be able to give you a ballpark estimate based on your request.

  • Tips are always appreciated, but never expected. Some clients have a set amount in mind, while others go by a percentage.

  • Our artists understand that clients sometimes need extra support during their tattoo/piercing procedures. We ask that clients limit support persons to one guest if possible. Too many guests may result in distraction to the artists and an overwhelming environment for the clients.

  • All tattoo appointments require a non-refundable $100 deposit that is held by your artist and applied to the cost of your tattoo. Cancellation with at least 48 hours notice may result in transferring your deposit money to a rescheduled appointment. Contact your artist directly or send us a message at the shop if you need to cancel an appointment.

  • While our artists are always ready to prep your skin before applying a tattoo, you may consider shaving or buzzing denser areas of longer hair beforehand. Please do not give yourself “razor-burn” as the bumps and irritation are not ideal for the placement of your new tattoo.

  • The short answer is “no.” Clients are required to sign a consent form that includes the fact that “you are not pregnant or nursing.” While our studio’s sanitary practices are compliant with the Ocean County Health Department, a new and healing tattoo/piercing still causes an amount of unnecessary stress on the body’s immune system.

  • We do not recommend or provide numbing cream as each client may have a different experience or reaction. If you are planning to put on numbing cream before your appointment, please communicate with your artist and consider doing an earlier “patch test” to rule out allergic reaction.
